Sometimes blogging and new babies don’t mix, which is why I’ve been unable to post all the gorgeous weddings that I’ve had planned for this week. But rest assured, next week things will be back to normal. And by “things and normal,” I don’t mean my sleeping schedule. I’m afraid no one around our house is getting a normal amount of sleep these days, at least between the hours of midnight and five am.

Speaking of pulling an all nighter, let’s kick off the weekend with this Mardi Gras-themed wedding by Kimberly Salem Photography. Kimberly is a New York- based wedding and lifestyle photographer with a fondness for food photography. She was sweet enough to send over Megan and Matt’s Mardi Gras-themed wedding, which was held last February to coordinate with the couple’s favorite holiday. In addition to the New Orleans-themed decor, which included plenty of Mardi Gras beads, a Jambalaya Brass Band and a four tiered wedding cake, the couple celebrated with a King Cake made by Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken. There were also feather masks for all the guests, which made for one interesting reception.

The bride stuck to tradition when it came to her wedding gown and accessories, opting for a beaded strapless gown with a long lace train. Her bridesmaid wore purple, which also served as the color inspiration for most of the decor.
