a modern indian wedding by joshua zuckerman photography

Thanks to the stained glass and damask backdrop of Brooklyn’s reBar and the finely trained eye of photographer Joshua Zuckerman, this wedding is the perfect blend of romance and mystery.

Geeta and David were recently married at Brooklyn’s reBar in what the couple described as a “shabby chic-inspired cocktail party.” The floral arrangements were handmade from brightly colored blooms picked up at Whole Foods, and the cake was homemade as well. When it came to the gown, however, the bride went straight to Monique Lhuillier selecting the ever-so-romantic Monet gown.

The bridal party stuck to a palette of all black but varied their looks with dresses by both Vera Wang and Melissa Sweet. One of the bridesmaids even crafted her own gorgeous handmade dress.

The very next day, the couple and their friends and family gathered once again for a traditional Indian ceremony.

Bride’s Gown: Monique Lhuillier | Bride’s Shoes: Aldo | Bride’s Jewelry: Tejani (earrings) and David Yurman (bracelet) | Bride’s Hairpiece: Ann Leslie Designs | Bride’s Hair/Make-up: Amanda Shackleton| Groom’s Attire: Kenneth Cole | Bridal party attire: Vera Wang, Melissa Sweet, and the bride’s friend’s own creation | Venue/Caterer:  reBar in brooklyn | Photographer: Joshua Zuckerman

REally great fusion of modern with traditional. I love ethnic weddings, and this one is probabnly most romantic, thanks to the fact that some of ethincal traditions were kept, but others were substituted with classic, europea nwedding style.
