Erin and Scott were recently married in Nashville, TN at the Historic Cedarwood of Nashville estate and barn. When it came to designing the look and feel of the wedding, the bride knew exactly what she wanted-lots of fresh flowers in shades of pink and white. Erin’s pearl ring that she wore the day of her wedding was a gift handed down by a friend just days before the wedding. Her headpiece, standing in for her ”something borrowed,” was a gift from Erin’s Matron of Honor who had also worn the headpiece in her own wedding two years prior. Erin’s garter, her “something blue,” was worn by her mother at her wedding 36 yrs ago. There were several “something new” items, not the least of which was Erin’s pretty strapless kathy ireland Weddings® by 2be gown which featured lace detailing at the bust and a satin taupe sash tied with a brilliant crystal brooch.
While the design team behind Historic Cedarwood of Nashville did an over the top job of brining Erin’s fantasy to life, several of our most favorite details were the result of handmade touches and personal details. The bride’s aunt added peonies from her own garden to the already lush bridal bouquets resulting in an abundance of both peonies and David Austin garden roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, snapdragon and Queen Anne’s lace.
There was a 90% chance of rain the morning of the wedding, so just to be safe a tent was erected. The fantastic staff at Cedarwood pulled from Erin’s color palette and decorated the inside of the tent without missing a beat.
