wedding gown shopping in paris

You’re invited to step inside the enchanted world of gown designer Aime Lohr for Lohr Couture. I’ve been blissfully poking around her Parisian boutique all morning and frankly, I don’t ever want to leave.

My favorite french photography duo, Audrey and Anthony of One and Only Paris, were kind enough to send over this take-your-breath-away portfolio from their recent fashion shoot with the Swedish designer, who is currently builder her website.  Her shop is currently located at 32 Rue Etienne Marcel.

Aime has taught at Parsons School of Design and prior to launching her own collection, she cut her teeth working for Ralph Lauren, Kenzo and Nina Ricci. I stumbled upon a recent interview conducted by Rendez-vous in Paris who was lucky enough to speak with the designer in person.

When asked what the best part of being a gown designer was, Aime’s response was classic. “The step between the design on paper and the first pattern. While working, laying, scrunching and draping the silk, satin or lace on the dummy, the fabric is full of possibilities and has the potential to become anything.

Adds Audrey, “The designer, Aime, put so much effort and has great taste, obviously. All the decor in her boutique is from vintage antique markets around Paris. Her style is kind of retro and fits so well with Paris.”

As always, thanks to One and Only Paris for sharing the work and their world with us. At this moment, I can think of no better place to be a bride than in Paris.
