lush florals from the young victoria launch party

I’m so excited to share the work of Perfect Bound sponsor Jeffrey Marcus of JM Visuals with you today, especially given the royal treatment that we received courtesy of Alisa Benay Couture. For those of you hooked on Alisa’s Victorian-inspired gowns, you’ll love the way Jeffrey combined Victorian royalty with contemporary chic.

On Monday, April 19, the Duchess of York was the guest of honor for the DVD launch party of the biographical movie, The Young Victoria. The award-winning film was co-produced by the Duchess of York along with Martin Scorsese, Graham King and Tim Headington.

The home movie launch, sponsored by Target, was held at the Schwarzman Building’s Celeste Bartos Forum of the New York Public Library. With its 30-foot-high glass saucer dome ceiling, the space was transformed into an intimate salon decked with British and royal-themed icons. The event was designed and produced by Rock and Rain and JM Visuals was commissioned to create the florals and décor for the event.

A majestic floral archway adorned with a crest inspired from the movie was custom built to set the tone for the night. Placed under a special red carpet entrance with alternating Target and crown logos, the archway made of lush florals of different shades of pink and white roses, lilacs and Casablanca lilies, accented with peonies and butterfly carnations ushered the guests into the dreamy space.

Jeffrey Marcus also created two large dog topiary with the silhouette of Tori, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who played Queen’s Victoria much loved Dash in The Young Victoria movie. The lush green hue of the boxwood used for the topiary was echoed in the hedges used throughout the space, reminiscent of English gardens.

Taking cue from the flowers used for the floral arch, the centerpiece of the event is a sculptural floral crown that spans 7 feet wide hovering above a mirrored bar, giving a hint of sweet floral fragrance throughout the space.

anne marie I absolutely love those cocktails rounds–what a clever idea. Lilacs are my favorite blooms, and those Queen Anne bar stools are pretty cool with the clear backs. Wouldn't this make a swank wedding too?
