unlikely floral arrangements make for a rad table and fat wallet

It’s been a while since I posted about table arrangements but when presented with pure genius, it’s difficult to resist. In the face of a new economy, brides are getting smart to the idea of second hand decorating. Instead of scouring the rental catalogue for a dozen vases that will decorate your reception tables, just ask your friends and family to look around the house and lend you their most stylish mugs, canisters and pitchers. House Beautiful’s Robert Rufino did a stunning job of arranging everyday containers with Spring’s freshest flowers. Check out the entire slideshow and some of my favorites here.

From Robert, ”Wonderfully curvaceous, and the narrow neck keeps flowers from splaying all over the place. A blue and white ginger jar — this one (above) is from John Rosselli Antiques — adds an extra decorative layer to a flower arrangement.
I used anemones because they have long necks that go in different directions. I like the movement, the way they play with one another in a grouping.” TIP: “You don’t have to use just one type of flower. Bud vases are great for separating flowers from a mixed bouquet. Scatter them around your house.”
