These dramatic dresses are all part of the Fifth Annual White Cashmere Collection 2008: A Touch of Pink fashion show. Held in support of breast cancer awareness and sponsored by Cashmere brand bathroom tissue, each of these dresses is crafted from 100% pure, soft and luxurious sheets of pure pink and white White Cashmere. That’s right! Toilet paper goes couture.

Curated by Susan Langdon, Executive Director of the Toronto Fashion Incubator, the world’s first and only designer BT Couture collection stars eight Canadian fashion luminaries including: Arthur Mendonça, (featured above) David Dixon, Joeffer Caoc, Evan Biddell, winner of Project Runway Canada, Joyce Gunhouse and Judy Cornish for Comrags, (featured below) Lucian Matis, (featured at top) Thien Le and (featured at bottom) Ula Zukowska. Once again, I love the pure genius of a raw sketch as shown in each of these illustrations. They are magnificent and made only more so by the real thing. If you’ve become as obsessed as I with fashion illustration, this book is a must. Even better, art schools like Parsons and Otis offer continuing education coursework in fashion sketching.

I’ve been married for almost 11 years, just realized the anniversary is creeping up on us! I could look at wedding dresses every day. Some part of my childhood princess aspirations is renewed, revisited, and reveled therein each fold and flounce of the gown. I’m not looking to be married again and yet, I keep returning to your site… I’m in love with beauty and all things feminine I suppose.

These dresses are amazing! And the drawings…

My High School offered an art class called “Fashion”. It was great, but my designs weren’t nearly as fabulous as these!!! Ha!

    Thanks for showing them.

Go Canada! There are so many amazing fashion talents in my home country, I just can’t get enough!

Loving the ruffle details on that last one…though I wouldn’t want to be caught in the rain while wearing any of these :)
